Bill J. Forster

Bill J. Forster, age 78, of Fridley, passed away on March 24, 2017. William Joseph Forster was born in Alta Vista Iowa on January 23rd 1939. He graduated from Alta Vista high school in 1957 and attended college at Wartburg, Macphail Music, and the University of Minnesota. He worked as an engineer, designer and sales consultant for Onan Corporation and Nott Company before his retirement at age 62. He loved spending time with family at his lake home in Deerwood Minnesota and enjoyed fishing, driving his speedboat, and working in his garage. He was a musician and sang in church, for special events and in choirs. Bill was an animal lover and had many dogs as pets through the years that he cherished. He spent the last four years of his life at Camilia Rose Care Center where he had many visitors and friends that helped care for him. He is preceded in death by parents, William and Ellouise Forster. Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bette; children, Jennifer Nathan Thompson and Stephanie Forster Jamey Voss; grandchildren, Matt and Chris Rollinson, Carly Jo and Jada Thompson, Camren Voss, Emily and Aidan Grendahl, great-granddaughter, Aubrey, Sisters and Brothers in law Fred and Claudia Tessmer, June and David Weber, Sister in law Mary Scheel and many special nieces and nephews. His Memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 61 Mississippi St NE, Fridley, MN 55432, on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at 11 AM, with a visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
