Charles Ray Land, known for his kind-hearted nature and easy-going personality, passed away on March 9, 2024, in Minneapolis. He was born on March 5, 1957.
Charles will always be remembered for the love he had for simple joys in life - walking the lakes, watching sports, and occasional trips to the casino. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched with his gentle spirit and non-judgmental attitude.
One of Charles' proudest accomplishments was his time as a star basketball player for the North High Polars. He set a school record by grabbing an impressive 29 rebounds in a single game, a feat that remains unmatched to this day.
Charles is survived by his daughters Teynae Richardson, Felicia Land, and Paris Logan-Suggs (bonus daughter), as well as his life partner Debbie Logan. He is also survived by his brothers Dale, James, and Harvey, and sisters Joyce and Diana. His grandchildren Adrienne, Curtis, and Trevion (bonus grandson) will carry forward his legacy of love and kindness.
In his passing due to colon cancer, Charles Land was surrounded by family members who loved him dearly. He is now at peace, reunited with his parents Willie and Catherine Land, brothers Roy and Willie Hogan who passed before him.
May he rest in peace knowing that he was truly cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A gathering to honor Charles will be held on Friday, March 15th from 2-5pm at Spirit of Truth Church in Burnsville, MN.
