Gary Lee Colvard, born on August 29, 1959, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, embarked on his final hike on August 31, 2024. His life was a remarkable journey, characterized by his unwavering individuality and zest for life. Gary's soul danced to its own rhythm, whether he was out on a trail, strumming his guitar, or drumming with passion.

An avid hiker and musician, Gary found solace in nature and music, where he felt closest to God. His love for the outdoors led him to explore countless trails, capturing breathtaking moments with his camera, which he generously shared with family and friends. Music was another sanctuary for Gary; he was a talented drummer and guitarist who spent countless hours making melodies with those he loved.

From a young age, Gary's adventurous spirit and heart of gold defined him. He channeled his caring nature into various roles, working as an EMT, fireman, paramedic, caretaker, and surgical technician. His dedication to helping others extended beyond his professional life, as he volunteered with the Big Brother program, offering guidance and support to disadvantaged children. His generosity touched many lives, both locally and globally.

Family was the cornerstone of Gary's life. He cherished every gathering and stood as a pillar of love and support through every challenge. He was a devoted son, nephew, brother, uncle, and cousin, always showing up with a warm heart and a helping hand.

Gary is survived by his beloved mother, Eileen; his sisters, Susan (Rob), Deborah (Charles), and Kathleen (Greg); his nieces, Kelley (Rick) and Shonna; his nephews, Dustin (Desiree) and Nicholas; his great-nephews, Miles and Evan; his aunts, Dorothy (Albert) and Carol; and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Elbert; his uncles, Jim and Norman; and his nephew, Ryan.
