Koskiniemi, Gerald "Gerry" S. age 83, of Fridley, passed into eternity on May 1, 2018 due to complications of Parkinson's Disease. He was born on February 10, 1935 in Gackle, North Dakota. Gerald graduated from Sebeka High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and married his high school sweetheart Sandy in 1954. In 1956, he graduated from Dunwoody Institute and became an electrician. He was a member of IBEW Local 292. In 1979, he became an electrical contractor, starting Aid Electric until he retired in 2000. Gerald enjoyed annual fishing trips, spending time at the lake, fun with grandchildren, visiting with people, and travel. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sandy (Riley); his children, Lori (Don) Weinmeister, Steve (Liz), John, and Colleen (Tom) Germundson; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandson. He is survived by eight siblings; Nancy Wilmot, Lester, Alice (Ron) Piri, Douglas (Jayne), Anna (Kenny) Tumberg, Dorothy, Donald (Joan), and Ronald (Luann). Preceding him in death are his parents, Eino and Lillian (Holmstrom); his brothers, Charles (Maynard), Eino, Jr.; and his sister, Norma (Brynsvold). A celebration of life will take place at St. Philip's Lutheran Church, 6180 Highway 65 NE, Fridley, Minnesota on Friday, May 11, 2018 with visitation at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a service following at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the church.
