Rust, James H. age 87 of Blaine. Jim was born in Princeton, Minnesota. He grew up in North Minneapolis and was a 1948 graduate of Patrick Henry High School. He proudly served with the U.S. Army in the Korean War as an air traffic controller. He was a barber and owner of Fremont Barbers in the Camden neighborhood of Minneapolis for over 50 years. He enjoyed many years of involvement in the Zuhrah Shrine as both a Funster Rusty the Clown and playing in the Steel Drum Band. He was an avid golfer, bowler and Minnesota Vikings fan. Survived by wife, Nancy; children, Bev Carlson, Bonnie Tim Salwei, Melanie Andrews; stepchildren, Kristina Jason Strain, and Daniel Sarah Soderstrom; grandchildren, Brenna, Dustin, Ryan, Megan; step-grandchildren, Mariah, Logan, Carter, and Lucy; great-grandchildren, Jakson, Olivia, Erwin. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grove Church, 8585 Rice Lake Road, Maple Grove, MN 55369. Luncheon following at the church.
