Janette Maxine Peterson, of Brooklyn Park, passed away on November 15, 2023.  She navigated her time here facing challenges from the beginning with surgeries for cardiac complications at birth.  She persevered along the way navigating numerous health challenges throughout her life journey,  finally succumbing to end stage renal failure. 

She was 64 years old. 

Janette graduated from Southwest High School.  Her appreciation of the arts led her to playing the violin and guitar.  Her drawing talents became recognized and she was offered and she accepted an art scholarship to the Minneapolis Institute of the Arts. After which she had enjoyed some commercial successes after graduation.  

Janette’s love of creatures big and small helped guide her desire to hone her abilities to train animals for others. This knowledge and understanding would continue to her training her own dogs and horses.  When she wasn’t riding or training she would could be found drawing or painting them. 

Janette’s professional career in part included Telecommunications and Security services field.  She worked in the Twin Cities as an E911 operator at the emergency call center.  Her latest position being at Phillips Eye Institute.  
 
Her sense of humor was like none other and in her later years, it became a way for her to cope with the complexities of her  <LIFE> illness. 

Janette is preceded in death by her mother, LouAnn Peterson (nee Trautman), father, Olgert Peterson, and uncle, Raymond Trautman.  She is survived by her brother, Greg Peterson of California, nieces, Jennifer, Angella, and great nephew, Kavi Holmes.   Aunts, Judy Sappington, Jean Garberg (Roger), and uncle, Paul Trautman. 


Funeral service to be held at 10AM, December 12, at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin AV, Minneapolis, MN 55408

Internment will follow at 11AM, at Lakewood, Section 26.

Celebration of Life will follow beginning, at 12PM, at Big Louies Bar in Crystal, 5216 W Broadway Ave., Crystal, MN 55428.
