Kenneth Jon Landro

July 3, 1940 — January 3, 2025

North Branch, MN

Kenneth Jon Landro, age 84, passed away at his home in North Branch, MN on January 3rd, 2025, surrounded by his family. Ken suffered from Alzheimer's/vascular dementia for almost 12 years before succumbing to the disease. He is survived by his wife Corinne, daughters Carrie Shea, Tracey (Hudson) Fleming, Melinda (Steve) Peasha, son Jeffrey (Jodi) Landro, brother Warren, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, Evelyn and Oscar Landro, his brothers David (Theresa) and Roger (Merle) Landro, and his granddaughter, Bryna Shea.

Ken grew up in Duluth, MN where he met Corinne in high school art class.  They married in 1959 and were married for 65 years.  Ken held a variety of jobs in his early years before settling in the trucking industry.  He owned his own truck and traveled the US and Canada.  Corinne and some of the grandkids were able to go on adventures with him, seeing the country from the big rig.

Ken loved the outdoors and nature.  His favorite place other than his home was their property on Loon Lake in northern Minnesota.  It was property Corinne's grandparents had homesteaded.  They'd spent time there all of their marriage and he was able to visit up until Labor Day weekend of last year.

Ken's family referred to him as the Pied Piper of Kids and Animals.  He loved them and they were drawn to him as well - especially those in his own family.  They had dogs and cats for most of their lives, some were their own and some were inherited from family.  Over the years, they raised chickens, pigs, calves and horses.

Although the final years were challenging as the disease took a greater hold Ken's family was still able to get him out and about, taking him on small adventures.  He would come alive with new scenery and experiences.  His family is grateful for the time we had with him and are comforted in knowing that he is reunited with his brothers.

A celebration of life will be held in May or June.
