Lorraine Mabel Warren Shields 8/14/31 - 6/21/15 Lorraine was born in Gackel, North Dakota to Edwin and Effie Peterson. She lived the first half of her life on the Iron Range along with her thirteen siblings whom she helped raise. Her parents and six siblings Verner, Ray, Donna, Cindy, Joan, and James have preceded her in death. Surviving siblings are Shirley, Ethel, Donald, William, Bonnie, Allan, and Duane. Lorraine and William Warren were married in 1951. They were together for twenty five years and he would forever have a place in her heart. Lorraine married Dan V. Shields in 1976, and the two were together until his death in September, 1993. For the past thirty years, Lorraine has resided in the Twin Cities area. Most recently, in Blaine where she spent the past seventeen years with her devoted friend and companion, Harold Hal Hengl, who cared for her in the past several years. Lorraine spent twenty years of her life directing the housekeeping department at the Eveleth Holiday Inn and the Radisson Hotel in Minneapolis. She retired in 1994. She spent the next eight years wintering in Arizona, where she made many new friends and wonderful memories. Lorraine cherished her four daughters and she loved her son-in-laws like they were her own sons. Barbara Craig Mason of Virginia, Brenda Alan Elliott, Robin Frank Fondurulia of Shoreview, and Rhonda Ponch Dobak of Blaine. Lorraine cherished her thirteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren, Charity Mason Jacob, Wyatt and Gavin, Joseph Lindsey Mason Ashley, Christopher and Julian, Teresa Nick Bradach Aleksey and Kolby, Nathan Mason Heather and Tyler and Abby Mason. Melanie Brian Hascall Tessa, Tiffany and Taryn, Shantell Jeff Browning Damian and Logan, Tia David Armstrong Klayten and Landen and Fame Lusti Abby, Owen, Hanna and Dylan. Penny Dennis Nelson Tyler Brian and Emilee and Kristen Dave Jacobs Alivia, Kalyn and Devin. Tiffany Aaron Mortensen Savannah and Jackson and Cory Christa Dobak Taylor. Lorraine persevered several occurrences of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma since 1993. She had a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. She fought for her life until she had no more. Memorial Services will be held at the Christ Lutheran Church in Blaine, MN 55434, on Monday, June 29th. Visitation will be at 10:00 am. The celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 am. The family wishes to thank all those that have been there for them in thoughts and prayer.
