She had brothers Art, Bill, and Norm, and a sister, Betty. When she was young, her family moved to Columbia Heights, MN where she attended school, and then moved to Johnsville, MN, graduating from Anoka High School. After graduation, she worked for IDS. During this time she met Goldie (Duane) Hanson, and was married on November 10, 1951.They built a home in Fridley where they raised their children, Candi and Craig, and became a stay at home mom. Spending time with family was most important to her. In 2000, they moved to a townhome in Coon Rapids allowing them to be closer to their family. Peg enjoyed spending winters in AZ at their home they purchased in 1988. Their time was spent playing many hours of cards, dinners, and sight-seeing with her siblings, in-laws, and out-laws. She enjoyed her collections of DeGrazia plates and figurines, Indian dolls, and bells. Peg started having health issues many years ago with breast cancer, bile duct cancer, and more recently lung cancer, and congestive heart failure. She began home hospice in October 2017 with Goldie taking care of her. After 10 months of being able to stay at home, her health declined rapidly, making it necessary to make the transition to JA Wedum for her remaining days.
