Richard James Jacobs

Richard James Jacobs Age 59, of Howard Lake, MN, passed suddenly on January 14, 2017. Richard was born on July 18, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois, moving shortly after to Green Bay, WI. He graduated from Southwest High School in Green Bay where he was a member of ROTC and became involved with his first love theater. Richard went on to perform in many community productions in the Green Bay area. He moved to the Twin Cities in 1989 where he quickly nurtured many long-lasting friendships with his giving and kind nature, and his ever-present sense of humor. His love for travel and the the arts, and especially music remained a vital part of his life. Richard is preceded in death by his mother and father, Nancy Sisson and Merlin Jacobs, and older brother Robert A. Jacobs. He is survived by a brother, David "Jake" Jacobs Kt of Columbia Heights MN; sister Diane Simon Jim of Green Bay WI, 3 nephews and a niece, great nephews and many friends. A memorial celebration of Richard's life will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 From 1-3 PM at Choice Cremation, 7398 University Avenue NE, Fridley, MN 55432. Private inurnment. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
