Stuart Dean Stubbe died due to complications from a fall on Sunday, October 07, at the University of Minnesota Hospital, Minneapolis. Dean was born October 22, 1937, the youngest child born to Claude and Alma (Stene) Stubbe. He was baptized on February 4, 1938 at Pelican Lake Lutheran Church in Ashby. He attended school in Ashby until 1950 when the family moved to Roseville, MN. He graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School, Roseville. Although Dean did not graduate from Ashby High School the school class reunion always included an invitation to him, which he really appreciated. Following high school he attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota. After serving in the U.S. Army he worked as a Senior Engineer at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California. In 1969 he married Martha Takako Mori at the Riviera Methodist Church in Redondo Beach. In 1994 he returned to Roseville and worked as a Software Engineer at Medtronic until his retirement.Dean enjoyed traveling, had made many trips throughout the world, enjoyed phtography, political discourse and study, art and music. He enjoyed people and visiting, he organized reunions of former classmates and also of his relatives. A favorite was an annual "cousin" gathering (of cousins and friends) at Minnesota Orchestra Sommerfest. Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings; an infant sister, Jean, at three months; a brother, Wesley, at age four; brother, Clair; sisters, Phyllis Thompson and Audrey Best; sister-in-law, Arabelle Stubbe; and brothers-in-law, Ed Thompson and James Best. He is survived by nieces and nephews: Lisa Best, John (Dani) Best and Peter (Tammy) Best, Brenda Stolzenburg (Freddie), and all their children. Dean's cremains will be buried at a later date in the family plot at the Pelican Lake Cemetery in Ashby.
